I'm Klay. For the past decade I've been writing in Chinese on WeChat under「世像」— long-form pieces on fintech, venture capital, AI, and hiring, plus letters to myself on birthdays and year ends.
This site is the English home for that body of work. The Chinese originals are archived here first, with their original publication dates; selected pieces are being rewritten in English — not translated word-for-word, but re-argued in a U.S. context.
Current focus: a series on why the U.S. produced Stripe and China didn't — brokerage decoupling, bank fee pools, payments infrastructure, and market structure.
